Sound absorbing wall panels that look like beetles – Need we say more?

Aug 16, 2018
MUT Design, a Spanish studio that was founded by Alberto Sánchez and Eduardo Villalón in 2010, has recently created a beautiful range of sound-absorbing wall panels.

Inspired by a recent trip to a science museum, MUT Design decided to create beautiful panels inspired by the beetles they saw on display.

One part modern art and one part pragmatism, these panels are visually appealing yet effectively decrease noise levels in the spaces in which they’re placed.

MUT’s line offers a beautiful variety of Beetle variations. With eight fabric furnishes to choose from, and a spectrum of colors ranging from pistachio to ginger, one can create striking color combinations.
In addition to the tasteful color options offered, one can apply a variety of prints, ranging from speckled to lined. The Beetle is secured to the wall with supporting stands made from oak, which can also be customized in color with the application of colored tints.

Cute little buggers, aren’t they?
And, they help reduce noise pollution. What’s not to love?

Aesthetics and functionality equally find a home in the Beetle. Designing a space often comes at the sacrifice of one or the other, but with the sleek aesthetic and functionality of the Beetle, one doesn’t have to choose.
As open-plan workspaces have become increasingly popular, so has the need to address acoustical challenges and provide sound masking and absorption in order to maintain an orderly and efficient workplace. Although these featured critters are not currently available in the USA, we offer a wide selection of equally creative acoustical solutions, and in many cases we can customize them to fit your office design or culture. Feel free to share your sound dampening challenges with our team!
